The series aims to identify horses and ponies that have the potential and attributes to become high class eventing athletes in the future. It will also offer an educational environment for young horses to be exposed to the elements of eventing.
The dressage phase will feature simple tests, to be judged as a whole rather than individual movements. The purpose is to judge the horse’s future potential, rather than the rider – the judge will seek to identify an athletic, free moving horses with three correct paces and a trainable attitude.
Jumping will be judged at the final to identify a bold, athletic horse with good technique. Courses will be built to encourage confidence with no tricky lines, progressing in height towards the final. Wherever possible courses will include some natural and cross country fences.
